At least five homes and a barn owned by the county government were destroyed and other structures were damaged Monday by a large tornado in the western Oklahoma town of Hammon.

No injuries were reported with the storm, Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management spokeswoman Michelann Ooten said. Besides the five homes that were destroyed, the roofs of several other houses were blown off, and power lines were down throughout the area, Ooten said.

“It really skirted the southeast corner and missed the population center,” Roger Mills County Sheriff Joe Hay said. “We had lots of warning. Our local storm spotters and the Hammon fire department were on top of the tornado before it got started.”

The barn – a large metal building – housed some vehicles and other equipment that belonged to Roger Mills County, officials said.

In India, an important news from the Delhi Cabinet on Monday as it permitted the increment of 33 % in the minimum wages. The new and changed wages will be effective from 1st February. In Delhi, now the minimum wages become the highest through out the country. Now with the increase in the minimum wages for the untrained labour the wages was now Rs.203 per day but it was Rs.163 per day previously. With concerned to semi-skilled labours it is now Rs.225 per day. But the highest wages is for the expert workers which will be now Rs.248 per day. Now with the revised mode in the Minimum Wages in Delhi, an untrained worker will now receive Rs.5272 per month while semi-skilled labours now will get Rs.5850 per month. Trained worker will achieve the uppermost amount Rs.6448 per month. In case of clerks and non-technical administrative staff there is also a rise in the day by day payment. In the case or graduates and above that will achieve Rs.270 per day as wages with a monthly amount of Rs.7020. So there is the good new for all the workers as there in the change in the Minimum Wages Act in India.
