It is going to be the day for many to remember because the results for the recently concluded by-polls in Telangana region will be announced today. The elections are said to be an important phase for Telangana regions, as it is the first time that the voice for a separate state has been louder than ever.
From Congress party the likes of Pradesh Congress Committee President D.Srinivas, former state minister Shabbir Ali, former MP Indrakaran Reddy are in fray along with others. However not everything seems to be going their way even in this by-elections.
For Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Harish Rao, K.Tarakarama Rao, and Eetela Rajender are in competition and it likely that unlike Congress prime members, they are going to score a win. Though Telugu Desam Party has competed, it will only be a surprise if it can manage to win from any one constituency, thanks to its not-so-clear standing on the raging Telangana issue.
The results for seven constituencies, where the elections were held by Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), are expected to be announced by noon. In the remaining five places, where the elections were conducted by Ballot Papers, results are expected by tonight. Whoever wins, will claim that they are the real fighters for the cause of a separate Telangana state.
Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) leader T. Harish Rao Friday set a record in Andhra Pradesh’s electoral politics by retaining his Siddipet assembly seat in the by-elections by a margin of over 95,000 votes.
Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) is leading in 11 constituencies and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in one as the counting of votes in the by-elections to 12 assembly seats in Andhra Pradesh’s Telangana region.
